A/Prof Matthew Gray OAM

A/Prof Matthew Gray started his career at Macquarie University in 1988 enrolling in a Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Laws and graduated eight years later from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Medicine. After completing his FRACGP in 2000 he began consulting from the Schwarz Family Practice eventually forming a special interest in Travel Medicine and now the COVID-19 pandemic. Matthew is a passionate advocate for General Practice and primary care and he is currently the Chairman of the South Western Sydney Primary Health Network. He was appointed as a member of the South Western Sydney Local Health District Board by the NSW Minister for Health in 2013 and is now the Deputy Chair. Matthew is involved in the education of future doctors (including two of his own sons) to maintain and improve the quality of doctors in South West Sydney and he is a governance expert for local hospitals. On 26 January 2022, A/Prof Gray was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia recognising his outstanding long term and ongoing contribution to community health. When not consulting he can be found growing his sons through planning their next adventure, anticipating the next Manly Sea Eagles win, working with the African AIDS Foundation, working in Africa, and hiking.
Dr John Schwarz OAM
B Pharm (Syd), MBBS (Syd)
Dr Schwarz graduated from the University of Sydney with a B Pharm and MBBS. Following this he worked as an intern and a resident at Royal North Shore and Mona Vale Hospitals. He then took his family to a mission hospital in South Africa where he became the Superintendent. In 1984 he returned to Australia with his wife, Rosalie, and their five children (including a high school aged Jane Gray) and established the Schwarz Family Practice in their home. For over thirty years John has worked in general practice, growing his practice and becoming increasingly involved in the needs of those in Africa. In 2000 Rosalie and John founded the African AIDS Foundation (AAF) which raises funds to support orphans and others affected by HIV/AIDS. This work involves a trip at least once a year to South Africa or Kenya. In 2013 John and Rosalie Schwarz each received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for their longstanding work in Africa.
Dr Jane Gray
Dip App Sci Nursing, B.Med (Newc), FRACGP
Dr Jane Gray is a 3rd generation General Practitioner. Jane joined her father Dr John Schwarz in 1998 following her graduation from The University of Newcastle in 1995. She has obtained further qualifications as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and certificates in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery. Jane has a particular interest in Family Care, Skin Cancer Medicine and Palliative Care. She thrives on working in Africa daily whilst living in Camden. She relaxes by writing for AAF, mentoring women and staying fit to keep up with their four adventurous sons and husband.
Dr Jenny Brackenbury
MBBS (Syd), DRANZCOG
Dr Brackenbury graduated from The University of Sydney and completed her Diploma in Obstetrics, Family Planning Certificate and training in General Practice with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Family Medicine Program. After moving to Camden she joined Dr Schwarz in 1989 as the first ever practice Registrar. Jenny has a special interest in Women's Health, Antenatal Care, Paediatrics and Counselling. She is a qualified GP Antenatal Shared Care provider for the South Western Sydney area. She believes in caring for people as a whole person and enjoys being part of the local community. When not at work you will find her quilting or crafting.
Dr Adel Magdy
MBBS/BSc (Med) UNSW, FRACGP
Dr Magdy graduated from the University of New South Wales, and joined the Schwarz Family Practice as a GP Registrar in 2009. He has been interested in a career in General Practice since being awarded the prize for best performance in the rural General Practice component of his undergraduate degree. After completing his GP training, Adel began consulting from the practice as a General Practitioner. Adel is one of the Rural Fire Service (RFS) medical assessors, completing both the Arduous Pack and Breathing Apparatus medicals. Being an avid traveller himself, he has a special interest in Travel Health, and has previously worked in hospitals in Kenya and Tanzania. When not consulting, you will usually find Adel on a plane, on a ski field, at his church or enjoying time with his young family.
Dr Robert Nicolas
FRACGP
Dr Robert Nicolas finished his medical degree in the Philippines and qualified to practice in Australia in 1997. He has a broad experience in the full range of general practice from Paediatrics to Adult General Medicine and Chronic Disease Management. He performs minor surgeries such as skin excisions, cyst removal and ingrown toenail removal. When not consulting, Robert and Mary Ann are usually found spending quality time with their extended family.
Dr Mary Ann Nicolas

Dr Mary Ann finished her medical degree in the Philippines and qualified to practice in Australia in 1998. She enjoys all aspects of general practice with her areas of special interest being in Women’s Health, Paediatrics, Adolescents and the care of the elderly. She is a qualified GP Antenatal Shared Care provider for the South Western Sydney area. She excels in offering her patients exceptional care in a warm, understanding manner.
Dr Barry Tran

In 2008 Dr Barry Tran graduated from the University of New South Wales and has obtained his FRACGP. He is an enthusiastic Doctor who was awarded Intern of the year in 2009 and Resident of the year in 2010 at Bankstown-Lidcome Hospital. Barry began consulting from Schwarz Family Practice in 2012. He has a special interest in Skin Cancer and offers skin care appointments to his patients several days a week.
Dr Yostina Atta

Dr Atta graduated from Bond University with a Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2014 and joined the Schwarz Family Practice as a GP Registrar in her final term. After completion of her FRACGP, Yostina began consulting from the practice as a General Practitioner. She enjoys the wide scope of patients that general practice has to offer and is particularly passionate about Women's health, Paediatrics and Skin Cancer. While not consulting, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing soccer, and going to church.
Dr Matthew Crilly
MBBS (UWS), DCH, FRACGP
Dr Matt Crilly graduated from Western Sydney University in 2012, and went on to work at Campbelltown, Camden and Bowral Hospitals before his General Practice training. Matt obtained his FRACGP in 2017 and was the recipient of the Tony Buhagiar Memorial Medal for scoring top marks in his OSCE exam amongst NSW and ACT candidates. Matt has a special interest in Paediatrics (having completed a Diploma in Children's Health), Lifestyle and Sports Medicine. Matt enjoys regular exercise, sport and music. He is happiest when spending time with his wife and son and is still hoping he might get scouted by Arsenal, despite being a very average footballer.
Dr Mina Ghali

Dr Ghali graduated from JCU in North Queensland in 2014. He has a wide area of interests; particularly in the management of Diabetes and Metabolic syndromes, Pediatrics and Data-Driven Healthcare. He has completed his Diploma of Child Health through Sydney University and Westmead hospital. He has taken further education in weight loss management, being a SCOPE-certified doctor with the World Obesity Federation. Outside of consulting, he enjoys cycling, spending time with family and at church.
Dr Hasitha Jayamaha
MBBS (UNSW), FRACGP
Dr Has (as he is known in the practice) began consulting from Schwarz Family Practice in 2014. He graduated from the University of New South Wales and completed his GP registrar training in Windsor, obtaining his FRACGP. He also completed his hospital years at Campbelltown and Bankstown hospitals and two years at Alice Springs, Shoalhaven and Shellharbour hospital emergency departments. Dr Has enjoys the wide scope of presentations that general practice has to offer. He has particular interest in the areas of Sports Health and Children's Health. When not consulting, Has enjoys swimming, drumming and travelling.
Dr Hannah Jones
MBBS , DCH, FRACGP
Dr Jones began consulting from the practice in 2018 after previously been with the practice for her GP Registrar training. She graduated from the University of Wollongong in 2013. She completed 2 years basic training at Campbelltown and Bowral Hospitals, then completed her FRACGP, including 6 months of emergency medicine. Hannah has a Diploma in Child Health together with the Family Planning Association Australia National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health, HealthCert Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine and is a qualified GP Antenatal Shared Care provider. When not consulting, she enjoys cross-stitching, looking after her house, spending time with her family and at her church.
Dr Anne Trang

Anne completed her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery degree at UNSW and then obtained her FRACGP. She has worked in hospitals across NSW including Westmead, Children's Hospital Westmead, Blacktown, St George, Sutherland, and Orange in specialties such as Paediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, Aged Care, Rehabilitation, emergency and surgery. Anne enjoys the wide variety that comes with general practice with special interests in Children's and Women's Health. She holds a Diploma of Child Health and the Family Planning Association Australia National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health. When she isn't consulting from the practice, Anne enjoys new food discoveries, exercising, travelling and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr Hui Lau

Dr Lau completed her medical degree at UNSW. She joined the Schwarz Family Practice in 2015 as a final term GP Registrar and began consulting from the practice as a General Practitioner after attaining her FRACGP. Hui enjoys the wide variety seen in general practice, and has particular interest in Women's Health, Paediatrics, Chronic Disease Management, and Antenatal Care. She has completed a Diploma of Child Health, Family Planning Association Australia National Certificate in Reproductive & Sexual Health, and HealthCert Professional Certificate of General Dermatology. Outside of consulting, Hui enjoys spending time with her family, friends and church as well as baking, reading and drinking cups of tea!
Dr Yodithya Gunaratne

Dr Yodi (as she is known in the practice) graduated from the University of NSW in 2014. After working at Campbelltown, Camden and Bowral Hospitals she followed her passion to become a General Practitioner, completing her GP training in 2019. Dr Yodi is very passionate about primary care as the forefront of medicine and enjoys the scope of general practice. She has a particular interest in Antenatal Care, Paediatric health and Chronic Disease Management. Her special area of interest is paediatric cow's milk (and food) protein allergy, in which she has furthered her study. She is a qualified GP Antenatal Shared Care provider for the South Western Sydney area, and has completed the Diploma in Child Health through Westmead Children's Hospital.
Dr Patrick McNamara

Dr Patrick McNamara completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Physiology) at the University of Sydney before moving to the University of Notre Dame to study post-graduate medicine, graduating in 2017. He completed his internship and residency at St Vincent's Hospital and Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. Patrick grew up in Sydney, in a big family, and has special interest in Paediatrics, Men's Health, Sports Medicine and Exercise.
Dr Paul Deighton

Dr Paul Deighton graduated from UNSW in 1980 and has been practicing medicine for the past 30 years. He offers a wealth of experience in providing a comprehensive and integrated approach to family medicine incorporating evidence based management of physical, psychological and emotional problems.
Dr Harshinie Jayamanna

Dr Jayamanna graduated in Paediatric and General Medicine in Sri Lanka in 2001. She started working in Australia in 2015 at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals and underwent Australian General Practice Training in South East Sydney from 2018 to 2021, obtaining FRACGP. Dr Jayamanna has a diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney and has completed her National certificate of reproductive and sexual health with the Family Planning Association of Australia. Dr Jayamanna is an Antenatal Shared Care provider for the South West Sydney local Health District with a main interest in Paediatric medicine, chronic disease management, women’s health, geriatric medicine and palliative care. When not caring for her patients, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
Dr Amna Hasan
MBBS, FRACGP
Dr Amna (as she is known in the practice) studied MBBS at Dow University of Health Sciences and did internship at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in Pakistan. She worked as a General Practitioner in Karachi before moving to Australia. She worked as Medical Officer in Mackay Hospital QLD, and Maitland Hospital NSW. She trained as a GP under AGPT and attained Fellowship of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2022. Dr Amna has over 10 years experience as a doctor having worked as a medical officer in ICU, Emergency Departments, Medicine, Surgery, Anaesthesia, Paediatrics and General Practice.
She enjoys the continuity of care that a primary care physician offers and practices evidence-based medicine. She has special interest in obesity management, women’s and children’s health, chronic disease management, preventive health, minor surgical procedures, and work-related injuries. She wants to enhance her skills in skin cancer medicine and is currently enrolled in the Professional Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine.
She enjoys the continuity of care that a primary care physician offers and practices evidence-based medicine. She has special interest in obesity management, women’s and children’s health, chronic disease management, preventive health, minor surgical procedures, and work-related injuries. Dr Corinne Fulford

Dr Corinne studied at Western Sydney University and Graduated in 2016. Corinne spent three years working in Camden and Campbelltown Hospital before completing her GP specialisation in the Wollondilly area. Dr Corinne enjoys all aspects of working in general practice and when not consulting, she enjoys reading, walking and listening to music.
